Congratulations to Mr. Rodceal Malinao, co-authored research publication in a Scopus-indexed journal of the research study titled, "Distribution and Ecology of Metapocyrtus (Metapocyrtus) ged Cabras & Medina, 2021 in Mindanao, Philippines". This study reported on the discovery of the Mindanao-endemic weevil species, Metapocyrtus (Metapocyrtus) ged Cabras & Medina, 2021, which was previously known only in Davao del Sur. Further, this study revealed the first record of the species in Bukidnon and the Cotabato region, along with ecological information such as its food plants, habitat description, and potential threats. Along with Mr. Malinao, this paper was co-authored by Dr. Romeo R. Patano Jr., Dr. Alma B. Mohagan, Ms. Amy G. Ponce, Dr. Maria Melanie M. Guiang, Ms. Gretl Rae P. Pescuela, and Dr. Fulgent P. Coritico from Central Mindanao University (CMU) and Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU). Mr. Rodceal is an instructor from the Institute of Teacher Education (ITED) at Davao del Sur State College (DSSC).
