DSSC 3rd Foundation Anniversary highlights Research, extension activities

Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) commemorated its 3rd Foundation Anniversary with various RDE-related activities organized by the Office of the Research, Development and Extension (ORDE). On February 18, 2022, the Institute of Agriculture and Related Sciences (IARS) highlighted a โ€œVirtual Training-Workshop on Data Analysis and Interpretation using Statistical Tools for Agricultural Research (STAR) Software,โ€ which aimed to help the students and faculty members in analyzing and innovating their agriculture-related researches. Meanwhile, the Institute of Computing, Engineering, and Technology (ICET) went to two locations to conduct their extension activities. The Information Technology Department went to Kiblawan, Davao del Sur to conduct training on โ€œManagement System Using RFID with SMSโ€. While the Agriculture and Engineering Department went to Barangay Igpit, Digos City, Davao del Sur to conduct the โ€œCommunity Needs Assessment for the Mechanization and Management of Agriculture Waste.โ€ On February 15, the Institute of Business and Governance (IBEG) conducted an extension activity with the goal of strengthening leadership and management of the members of the Bagobo-Tagabawa Farmerโ€™s Association (BATAFAMA). The next day, the Institute of Arts and Science (IAS) held โ€œErgonomics: Functional and Health Exercise for Elderly Sectors" at Barangay Bato, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. According to Dr. Mark Jude F. Trondillo, ORDE Director the set of activities was organized to highlight the various research-based outputs and extension activities spearheaded by the different academic departments of the Institute. He also said that the said activity aims to provide venue for research-based output and extension activities for stake-players and conduct extension activities through departments priority agenda. On the other hand, the Institute of Graduate and Professional Education (IGPE) will hold a seminar-workshop on February 19, 2022, organized a webinar titled โ€œResearch and the Relevance of Publication: A Virtual Seminar-Workshop for the Graduate Students of DSSCโ€.
